The 1430th Bengali New Year, also known as 'Pohela Boishakh', was celebrated with great fervour and enthusiasm at NTPC Farakka on April 15, 2023. The vibrant event, organized by the Employees’ Welfare Association (EWA) at Vivek Bhawan, PTS Farakka, brought together employees and their families for an evening of cultural exchange and merrymaking.

Shri Sanjiv Kumar, CGM Farakka, graced the occasion as the chief guest and inaugurated the program by lighting the traditional lamps, a symbolic gesture to signify enlightenment, prosperity, and the dispelling of darkness. The attendees eagerly watched as the evening unfolded with a colourful array of cultural programs.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from employees and their family members, who showcased their talents in various art forms such as dance, music. The spirit of unity and cultural pride was palpable, as people came together to celebrate their shared heritage.

Prominent guests at the event included Shri Bijay Manjul (GM-O&M), Shri P V Kameswara Rao (GM-Maintenance), Shri P K Jena (GM-ADM), Shri Alok Kumar Ranbir (AGM-HR), representatives of Unions and Association. Their presence added to the grandeur of the occasion.

The Bengali New Year celebration at NTPC Farakka was a grand success, fostering a sense of camaraderie and belonging among the community.
